DeutschKarten does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no network requests.
The app saves two things, on your device only:
Both are kept with the operating system's standard preference storage
(NSUserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android) and are
removed when you delete the app. You can clear them at any time with
Reset progress on the home screen.
On iOS, if you are signed in to iCloud, these two values are also stored in your own iCloud account (Apple's key-value storage) so your progress follows you to your other devices. That data belongs to your Apple account: it is not sent to a server of mine, and I cannot see it. Signing out of iCloud simply leaves the app working from the copy on that device.
The entire vocabulary set ships inside the app. Nothing is downloaded, and the app works with no internet connection.
Pronunciation uses the text-to-speech engine built into your device
(AVSpeechSynthesizer on iOS, Android TTS on Android). The words to be
spoken are passed to that system component on your device. DeutschKarten does not
record audio and has no microphone access.
There are none. The app contains no SDKs for analytics, crash reporting, attribution or advertising.
The app is suitable for all ages. Because no data is collected at all, no data is collected from children either.
If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
